How to Get Bugs Out of Appliances | 911 Service Today

Cockroaches are common household pests that repulse people, carry diseases and make a space seem unsanitary.  Their saliva, feces and exacerbate allergies and asthma.  People usually spray insecticides to kill pests. However, sometimes roaches hide in electronic appliances. The heat and tiny holes attract the pests especially if the unit is close to a water source.  These pests can be very damaging to electronics, leaving egg cases and tiny brown specks inside of the unit.

The main damage to appliance electric boards is done by Roaches, and not by electric spikes or regular ware & tier!

Bug in Electric BoardRoaches sometimes enter houses by riding in appliances. During infestations, they often use appliances as hiding places.  Appliances provide a warm, dark, and often times moist area for them to inhabit.  Common areas where you can find cockroach nests are under/inside fridges, washers, and dishwashers.  The problem is that insecticides cannot be sprayed into a unit where food is stored or into every tiny crevice.

The best way to get rid of roaches in your kitchen:

First, thoroughly clean any area where sprayed pesticides have been applied with a mild cleaner. Applying roach baits to contaminated areas will not work. These sprays leave a residue that lasts at least a few days, pests will stay clear of the area as long as they can smell it. This can provide a false sense that the product is working correctly because the roaches will be clear of the area for a few days. Inevitably the cockroaches actually spread throughout the entire house. They will get inside of your walls through tiny voids and travel along the electrical wires moving from room to room.

Bug in Electric BoardRemove all kitchen drawers and pay particular attention to the underside area. You will need to put your head under the sink and look backward toward the front of the cabinet. Inspect and treat the areas where your cabinets join each other and the wall as well as the door hinges.  Look behind all picture frames and hanging ornaments.  Roaches are not social insects but will form aggregates, where they will gather for mating. This is what you are looking for.

Set Sticky traps behind kitchen appliances and tightly against walls or the corners of the room.  Check the traps every day to locate infested areas and points of entry. Once roaches cover the surface, replace these traps with new ones. This method catches some roaches and helps to monitor the presence of the insects, but does not usually reduce the roach problem.

Thoroughly clean the area around the appliance. Vacuum debris on the floor and empty the vacuum contents outside.  Vacuuming in and around the appliances removes roaches and egg cases.  Take care to store all food in airtight containers.

Sprinkle a thin line of boric acid behind the dishwasher, stove, and refrigerator as well as under the sink where plumbing pipes enter the kitchen.  Squeeze a thin line of pesticide gel in cracks and crevices around the dishwasher.

After 7 to 12 days from your initial treatment, you will need to re-inspect areas where you still notice roaches.  Pay attention to where babies are roaming and repeat steps.  You will not be able to eliminate the entire problem overnight as the males of the species can go a whole month without eating.

If the infestation has already spread to the entire house, don’t panic.  You can still get the pests under control; it will just take a little more work on your part.

Ultrasonic pest repellers are electronic devices that emit high-frequency sounds designed to repel, injure, or kill household pests, such as rodents and insects.  Studies designed to investigate the efficacy of ultrasonic pest repellents have shown mixed results. Homeowners with pest problems should rely on a qualified inspector who can help them identify their particular pest problem and advise them on practical and effective solutions.
